It offers ten original inspirational songs meant to give emotional hope, spiritual comfort, guidance, encouragement, and strength ― especially for those going through difficult times. Each track features soothing melodies blended with insightful lyrics based on life principles rooted in God’s love (as expressed through the person/work of Jesus Christ). Themes covered include: God’s existence, human purpose, hope, courage, marriage, perseverance, God’s nearness, prayer, and personal fulfillment. These beautifully orchestrated songs are perfect not only for special church music, but also private meditation. The CD would be most appreciated by Christians and other spiritually-minded listeners. Richard’s first musical influences came from his mother, who introduced him at an early age to not only Broadway musicals, but also a variety singing celebrities from Hollywood’s golden era: Mario Lanza, Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Perry Como, Andy Williams, and Tony Bennett. Then, when Richard began seeking out music for himself, he quickly identified with the easy listening sounds popularized in the ‛70s/’80s. Eventually, country-crossover became a strong influence on Richard, particularly the genre’s common trend toward lyrical storytelling, which ultimately pushed Richard into using more straightforward lyrics, in contrast to the kind of lyrics he found in other forms of contemporary music. Richard’s vision for his songs (usually heartfelt ballads) is to touch the soul and help people connect with their deepest emotions, as well as with God, and by doing so, help them to heal their heart-wounds. By using his musical talents in this way, he hopes to make the world a better place; one heart at a time.
